It's Not Totally Fleshed Out Yet........... Or Is It?

I was walking down Smith Street today and I happened upon a placard out the front of a travel agent's store. You know, the kind of little aluminium piece of $hit that will fold up and crash to the sidewalk with surprising clarity at just the slightest hint of a breeze.

Anyway, they were advertising 'cheap' (yeah right) fares to Brazil. The pitch? An image of a statuesque, exotic Amazonian Goddess in full Mardi Gras attire (which isn't really that full). The quote? "Experience a Brazilian." Outstanding.

It reminded me of this here Dudley Moore flick (Crazy People) where a marketing genius goes nuts due to the pressures of the job and ends up in a mental asylum. Where, of course, he mines the liberated insanity to spin left-of-centre marketing gold. My favourite was a tourism ad for the Caribbean. The pitch? "Come in The Bahamas."
